As the game stands, it’s enjoyable for a couple of hours it takes to play the single-player, but sorely missing a quick play mode, and the multiplayer for a fully-fledged broom racing experience. The broom mechanics in Little Witch Academia: VR Broom Racing are simple, but they work and the racing is surprisingly smooth, even as you pick up faster brooms and speeds. It may be there to help alleviate the sickness some people may get from being able to look down and see nothing in which case I’d ask why there isn’t an option to remove it for those not afraid of heights or VR-jitters? But most confusing is the rainbow road-inspired strip that is your guide through the races ‘tracks.’ It takes away from the open-air space of flying by always being below you. For a start, the visual novel text boxes mean you’re constantly distracted and reading text boxes instead of being invested in the world around you. You’ll find boxes throughout the course like your typical kart-racer and activating with a wave of your other hand, which is holding your wand, will either give you a short speed burst or send a curse to one of your opponents.īright colours and the anime art style make for easy-on-the-eyes races, but some other design choices leave room for questions. There’s no button or action necessary to get accelerating once you’re moving, so you can focus entirely on the race. You hold out one hand slightly in front of you as if you’re holding the front of a broom underneath you and then simply turn it in the direction you want to move. Visit Little Witch School, where the sweet and adorable students are getting ready to ride brooms for the very first time. Riding and racing your broom is very simple. It’s like clicking through a visual novel, however, and not a fully-interactive experience you would desire from a VR game. Before each level and after there’s some mild story stuff with characters interacting in front of you. There are 13 levels here (19 technically, but I’ll get to that) with a mix of straight races, or time trails where you’re casting spells at ghosts. If anything, playing Little Witch Academia: VR Broom Racing has made me want to start watching the two-season anime. Although there is a functional story to house the races of the game in, there isn’t a need to have watched the anime. A Witch's Must-Haves:In today's video we'll be making a broom and a magic wand.I chose to use wood and jute string for this project. This gave me SIX pieces, which would turn into SIX pencil brooms off of ONE craft felt piece. However, if you’re like me and the idea of broomstick racing VR game is enticing enough, worry not. 1.I dont have exact measurements but I first cut my brown craft felt piece into thirds, length wise. For fans of the Little Witch Academia anime, I’m sure there’s some delight to be had from interacting with the characters of the show in VR.
